SCSF Equities increases stake in Pier 1

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 2 - Pier I Imports, Inc. investors led by SCSF Equities, LLC purchased 1,021,714 additional shares, for total ownership of 5,495,173 shares, or about 6.2%, of the company's outstanding common stock.

The shares were bought between July 30 and Aug. 1 at average prices ranging from $6.36 to $6.88 each, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

On March 16, the investors reported a 5.1% stake in the Fort Worth, Texas, specialty retailer with ownership of 4,473,459 shares.
