Piedmont Natural Gas files automatic shelf for stock, debt securities

Knoxville, Tenn., July 7 - Piedmont Natural Gas Co. Inc. filed a debt securities and common stock automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The shelf also covers guarantees for the debt.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Piedmont is a Charlotte, N.C.-based energy services company.
