Philippines files $2.89 billion shelf registration for debt securities

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 5 - The Republic of the Philippines filed a $2.89 billion debt securities and warrants shelf registration in a Schedule B filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The amount is being carried forward from a previous registration of unsold securities.

Proceeds will be used for the general purposes of the republic, including budget support and repayment of a portion of the government's borrowings.
