Philippines files $2 billion debt shelf

New York, April 8 - The Republic of the Philippines filed a $2 billion shelf for debt securities and warrants with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration includes $197 million of securities previously registered but unsold.

The Philippines said proceeds will be used for its general purposes including for budget support and to repay part of the government's borrowings unless specified otherwise at the time of sale.
