Philippine Airlines seeks local recognition of U.S. proceedings

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 22 – Philippine Airlines Inc. said it filed a petition on Monday in the Pasay City court seeking recognition of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
The company said the petition aims to ensure that the Philippine legal system recognizes all proceedings and decisions rendered by the U.S. court, according to a notice.
The issuer is the flag carrier of the Philippines and is based in Pasay City, the Philippines. The company filed bankruptcy on Sept. 3 under Chapter 11 case number 21-11569.
