Pharsight, FDA collaborate on data development

By Elaine Rigoli

Tampa, Fla., June 7 - Pharsight Corp. has entered into a cooperative research and development agreement with the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, using Pharsight software tools, including the Pharsight Knowledgebase Server (PKS), to review clinical trial data for clinical pharmacology and clinical safety reviews.

The purpose of the collaboration is to develop PKS into a repository for the data needed for modeling and simulation, to support Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium data formats and to interact with other FDA databases, according to a news release.

Pharsight said it will use the FDA's feedback from the collaboration to further develop and customize PKS to meet industry-analysis requirements.

Pharsight, located in Mountain View, Calif., is a pharmaceutical products and services company.
