PFM Group promotes seven managing consultants to managing directors

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Feb. 22 - The PFM Group announced in a press release that it has promoted seven senior managing consultants to managing directors of the firm.

The new directors are Mike Berwanger in the Los Angeles office; Bob Cheddar and John Molloy in the Harrisburg, Pa., office; Todd Frazier in the Charlotte, N.C., office; Bethany Pugh in the Cleveland office; Peter Shellenberger in the San Francisco office; and Dennis Waley in the Austin, Texas office.

Berwanger joined PFM's public power financial advisory practice in 2007 after working for several years as an investment banker. He earned a degree in finance with a minor in economics from Pace University.

Cheddar joined PFM six years ago and manages more than $6 billion of client assets. A holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, Cheddar has a bachelor's degree from Susquehanna University and an MBA from Pennsylvania State University.

Molloy's career in finance and investment spans nearly 20 years. He joined PFM eight years ago after working for 12 years in the institutional investment area. Like Cheddar, Molloy holds the CFA designation. He has two bachelor's degrees from Lafayette College, one in economics and business and the second in government and law, along with an MBA from Cornell University.

Prior to joining PFM in 2005, Frazier was vice president of finance for the Kansas Development Finance Authority and an options trader at the Kansas Board of Trade. At PRM, Frazier leads PFM's pricing group. He earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of Kansas and an MBA in finance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Additionally, he is a CFA charter holder.

Pugh joined PFM in 1998 after receiving her bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University. She leads PFM's Ohio practice, working with both the financial advisory and strategic consulting sectors.

Shellenberger, a senior member of PFM's national transportation team, joined the firm nearly 10 years ago. Prior to that, he worked for a consulting firm, also in the transportation field. Shellenberger has a master's degree in public policy from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley.

Waley has worked in the firm's financial advisory business since 2005. A certified public accountant, Waley is the former president of the Government Treasurers of Texas. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

The PFM Group, based in Philadelphia, provides independent financial and investment advisory services from its national network of offices.
