Fitch affirms Petronas

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Petroliam Nasional Bhd.'s (Petronas) ratings at senior unsecured foreign currency A- and senior unsecured local currency A+. The outlook is stable.

Fitch said it also assigned a short-term rating of F2 to Petronas.

The ratings reflect Petronas' position as Malaysia's national oil and gas company as well as its favorable production-sharing contracts with international partners, integrated energy business and extremely robust financial profile, the agency said.

Petronas' ratings are constrained by Fitch's country ceiling of A- for Malaysia.
