Asat proposed $125 million seven-year notes price talk 9½% area, to price Friday

St. Louis, Jan. 15 - Price talk is in the 9½% area on New Asat (Finance) Ltd.'s proposed $125 million of seven-year senior notes (B3/B), according to an informed source.

The deal is expected to price on Friday.

Citigroup is the bookrunner for the Rule 144A/Regulation S offering.

The notes will come with four years of call protection and will be guaranteed by Asat Holdings Ltd.

The company plans to use the proceeds to redeem the its 12½% senior notes due 2006 as well as for general corporate purposes and capital expenditures.

Asat is a semiconductor assembly, test and package design services company based in Pleasanton, Calif., and Hong Kong.
