Argentina's Petrobras Energia to redeem class K, M notes due 2007

New York, March 17 - Petrobas Energia SA said it plans to prepay $186 million of class K and class M notes due 2007 issued under its $2.5 billion medium-term notes program.

The company will repay the remaining principal plus accrued interest.

Of the original $286.26 million, $113.80 million of the series K notes remains outstanding and $72.28 million of the original $181.82 million series M notes.

Petrobas Energia, based in Buenos Aries, Argentina, is an oil and gas company.
