Brazil’s Petrobras to issue R$5 billion debentures in four tranches

By Susanna Moon

Chicago, July 27 – Petroleo Brasileiro SA, or Petrobras, plans to issue up to R$5 billion of debentures in up to four series, according to a 6-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The allocation of volumes among the series will be defined via bookbuilding.

Petrobras said it will issue a minimum of R$800 million of bonds in the first and/or second series, which will be infrastructure debentures, and R$3.2 billion in the third and/or fourth series.

The infrastructure debentures will consist of two series that classifies as a priority the investment project in the oil and natural gas infrastructure area named “exploration and production development program for transfer of rights fields,” held by Petrobras.

Petrobras is a Rio de Janeiro-based oil and gas company.
