Moody's affirms Asahi Kasei

Moody's Japan K.K. said it affirmed the A2 long-term domestic and foreign currency issuer ratings of Asahi Kasei Corp.

The outlook remains stable.

Moody's said the rating action follows the company's announcement that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire ZOLL Medical Corp., a manufacturer of resuscitation and critical care devices and related software solutions, for about $2.21 billion.
