Two Performance Trust mutual funds may now engage in short sales

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Feb. 21 - Two Performance Trust mutual funds have modified their investment strategies, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Performance Trust Total Return Bond Fund and the Performance Trust Municipal Bond Fund now have the ability to engage in short sales as a non-principal investment strategy. The funds may engage in short sales of securities in their portfolio representing up to 10% of the funds' net assets, the filing said.

Chicago-based Performance Trust Investment Advisors, LLC is the funds' investment adviser.
