Fitch: Pennsylvania Electric notes BBB+

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a BBB+ rating to Pennsylvania Electric Co.'s senior notes issuance.

The outlook is stable.

Fitch said the ratings reflect Pennsylvania Electric’s relatively predictable electric transmission and distribution cash flow, constructive Pennsylvania regulatory compact and the absence of commodity price risk.

The ratings also consider Pennsylvania Electric’s solid stand-alone credit metrics and rating linkage with its corporate parent, FirstEnergy Corp., the agency noted.

Effective Jan. 31, 2017, Pennsylvania Electric transferred its transmission assets to Mid-Atlantic Interstate Transmission, LLC, an indirect subsidiary of FirstEnergy.
