Artisan High Income Fund to launch with Krug at helm

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., March 7 - Artisan Funds gave details about its new high-yield, fixed-income fund, the Artisan High Income Fund, in a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The fund, which is set to launch this month, seeks to provide total return through a combination of current income and capital appreciation. It invests in a diversified portfolio of attractively valued high-yield corporate bonds and secured and unsecured loans, which may include senior and subordinated loans, delayed funding loans and revolving credit facilities, and loan participations and assignments.

Bryan C. Krug is the portfolio manager.

The fund offers investor and advisor share classes. The ticker symbols are ARTFX and APDFX, respectively.

Shareholder fees consist of a 2% redemption fee for shares of either class that are redeemed or exchanged within 90 days or less. Including management fees of 0.75% and taking into account the effects of a fee waiver agreement, total annual fund operating expenses are expected to be 1.25% for each share class.

Milwaukee-based Artisan Partners LP is the investment adviser.
