Fitch rates Paraguay bond BB+

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a BB+ rating to Paraguay's $500 million bond with final maturity in 2050.

The bond has a coupon of 5.4%.

The proceeds from the issuance will be used for capital expenditures and to refinance a portion of outstanding debt, Fitch said.

The rating is in line with Paraguay's long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating of BB+.

The bond is sensitive to any changes in Paraguay's ratings, the agency noted.
