Paraguay sets initial talk in 6 3/8% area for dollar 30-year notes

By Christine Van Dusen

Atlanta, Aug. 4 – Paraguay set initial talk in the 6 3/8% area for its benchmark-sized offering of dollar-denominated notes due in 30 years (Ba2/BB/BB-), a market source said.

BofA Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan are the bookrunners for the Rule 144A and Regulation S deal.

The proceeds will be used to finance infrastructure and energy projects and to support the economy.

The notes are expected to price as soon as Monday.
