S&P revises Panasonic to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on its long-term corporate credit rating on Panasonic Corp. and its subsidiaries to positive from stable.

The BBB+ long- and A-2 short-term ratings on Panasonic and its overseas subsidiaries were affirmed.

S&P said Panasonic's operating performance has exceeded its expectations over the past two quarters.

The outlook revision reflects the agency’s view of growing prospects for a streamlined cost structure and better-than-expected progress in enhancing the company's business portfolio to further increase its EBITDA margin to above 9.5% over the next one to two years.
