Panama to issue dollar-denominated bonds due in 2050

By Rebecca Melvin

New York, April 9 – Panama is planning to issue dollar-denominated bonds due in 2050, according to a filing from the sovereign.

Citigroup and Deutsche Bank are the bookrunners for the Securities and Exchange Commission-registered deal.

Application will be made to list the bonds on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange for trading on the Euro MTF Market.

The proceeds will be used for refinancing, repurchase and retirement of sovereign debt and for general budgetary purposes.
