Moody's: Pakistan banks negative

Moody's Investors Service said that the outlook on Pakistan's banking system remains negative.

Moody's said the negative outlook reflects: (a) the challenging domestic operating environment; (b) banks' increasing holdings of Pakistan government bonds; and (c) the resultant shift away from lending to the private sector, which is weakening banks' franchises and profitability.
