Teleflex, Arrow combine to create $1.4 billion medical technology company

Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 3 - Teleflex, Inc. completed its acquisition of Arrow International, Inc. to become a $1.4 billion medical technology business with more than 11,000 employees and operations in some 20 countries.
"We are very excited about the potential created by bringing together the considerable talent and resources of these two companies," Teleflex Medical president Ernest Waaser said in a company news release.
"Arrow is an established leader in venous access and offers a range of specialty catheters and products for anesthesia and cardiac care. Teleflex Medical's critical care products include disposables used in respiratory care, anesthesia and urology and are complemented by specialty products for surgical applications," Waaser added.
The previously reported $2 billion cash transaction gave Arrow stockholders $45.50 per share.
Reading, Pa.-based Arrow develops, manufactures and markets disposable catheters and related products for critical and cardiac care.
Teleflex's products are used in the commercial, medical and aerospace markets. The company is located in Limerick, Pa.
