Fitch assigns A- to PG&E notes

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A- rating to Pacific Gas & Electric Co.’s (PG&E) $400 million 4% coupon senior unsecured notes.

The agency also assigned an F2 rating to the utility's $250 million floating-rate notes issuance.

The outlook is positive.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, to repay short-term debt and for the redemption of $160 million of variable-rate pollution control bonds.
