Owens Corning earns $2.38 million in September

Washington, Dec. 28 - Owens Corning reported earning $2.38 million in September on $350.42 million of sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Dec. 27 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Operating income was $22.87 million.

Since filing for bankruptcy the Toledo, Ohio-based building materials company has lost $1.9 billion on $13.46 billion of sales for an operating loss of $1.29 billion.

On Sept. 30, Owens Corning had $490.95 million of cash and cash equivalents.

Owens Corning filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 5, 2000. Its Chapter 11 case number is 00-3837.
