Owens Corning posts loss of $7.83 million for February

Pittsburgh, April 21 - Owens Corning reported a net loss of $7.83 million for February, according to its monthly report filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The loss improved from $10.80 million in January.

Operating income for the month was $11.56 million while net sales were $300.68 million. January saw an operating loss of $473,000 while sales for the month were $300.10 million.

Cash at the end of the month was $676.57 million, up from $653.81 million at the end of January.

Owens Corning, a Toledo, Ohio, building materials company, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 5, 2000. Its Chapter 11 case number is 00-3837.
