Owens Corning asks court to extend exclusivity to solicit votes

By Jeff Pines

Washington, Nov. 16 - Owens Corning asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to extend its exclusive right to solicit votes for its reorganization plan to June 30.

The current exclusive period ends Dec. 31.

The Toledo, Ohio-based building materials company said it needs the extension to obtain district court approval of its amended disclosure statement and to solicit votes.

Owens Corning filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 5, 2000. Its Chapter 11 case number is 00-03837.
