Owens Corning posts $28.95 million April income from operations

Pittsburgh, Aug. 1 - Owens Corning reported a $28.95 million income from operations for April on $356.84 million in net sales, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The operating income shows improvement from $14.8 million in March on net sales of $390.29 million.

The net income for April was $1.07 million, down from a $3.28 million March net income.

Cash on April 30 was $971.63 million, compared with $960.54 million at the end of March.

Owens Corning, a Toledo, Ohio, building materials company, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 5, 2000. Its Chapter 11 case number is 00-3837.
