Otterbourg rolls out mass tort bankruptcy practice group

By Wendy Van Sickle

Columbus, Ohio, March 5 – Otterbourg PC launched its mass tort bankruptcy practice group, formalizing what the firm said has been an informal practice group within Otterbourg for a few years.

The group advises and represents creditors and fiduciaries of creditors, including tort claimants, governmental units, official committees, ad hoc committees, future claimant representatives and settlement trust trustees and committees, in anticipation of, during, and after plan confirmation of, bankruptcies involving substantial mass tort liabilities, according to a news release.

This cross-departmental practice group is led by bankruptcy and restructuring partner Sunni Beville and litigation partner Adam Silverstein and receives input from Melanie Cyganowski, retired chief judge of the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York and chair of Otterbourg’s bankruptcy and restructuring department.

Otterbourg is a law firm in New York City.
