Fitch affirms Ostrow Wielkopolski

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed the Polish city of Ostrow Wielkopolski's national long-term rating at BBB+(pol) with a stable outlook.

Fitch said the rating is based on the city's satisfactory budgetary performance, moderate debt, the new financial system's positive impact on its budget and an improving economic environment.

The rating also takes into account uncertainties connected with new local elections in 2006 and the city's relatively weak local economy with still high unemployment.
