Moody's may raise Orix

Moody's Investors Service said it placed the Baa3 senior unsecured debt, senior unsecured medium-term note and long-term issuer ratings of Orix Corp. on review for possible upgrade.

This review is based upon Moody's increased confidence in the prospect of Orix consistently achieving reasonable financial performance on the back of its highly diversified franchise value, centering on domestic leasing activities. The review also reflects the company's commitment to upgrading its risk management to deal with the risk of unexpected losses from its wide scope of business activities.

Ratings under review for possible upgrade include Orix Corp.'s Baa3 senior unsecured debt, senior unsecured MTN and long-term issuer ratings; Orix (Caribbean) NV's Baa3 senior unsecured debt and senior unsecured MTN ratings; Orix Ireland Finance plc's Baa3 senior unsecured debt and senior unsecured MTN ratings; and Orix USA Corp.'s Baa3 senior unsecured MTN rating.
