Moody's may upgrade Orix

Moody's Investors Service said it placed the Baa1 senior unsecured debt rating, senior unsecured medium-term note rating and long-term issuer rating of Orix Corp. on review for possible upgrade.

Other ratings on upgrade review include Orix Caribbean NV's Baa1 senior unsecured debt and senior unsecured medium-term rating, Orix Ireland Finance plc's Baa1 senior unsecured medium-term note rating and Orix USA Corp.'s Baa1 senior unsecured medium-term rating.

The review is because Orix is likely to maintain favorable financial performance from its well diversified business segments, Moody's said.

The domestic leasing segment is likely to continue contributing to steady overall growth in Orix's consolidated earnings and profitability, the agency said, through value-added services including maintenance leases to domestic small-to-medium sized clients.
