S&P: Oracle on positive watch

Standard & Poor's said it placed its A corporate credit rating, A senior unsecured ratings, and A-1 short-term rating on Oracle Corp. on CreditWatch with positive implications.

"The CreditWatch listing reflects Oracle's exceptional liquidity and robust free cash flow generation which provides the company the flexibility to fund ongoing acquisitions, cash dividends ($1.1 billion in fiscal 2011) and share repurchases without materially weakening its financial profile," said S&P credit analyst Philip Schrank in a news release.

S&P said any upgrade would likely be limited to one notch to preserve Oracle's flexibility to pursue its growth and shareholder-friendly initiatives.
