S&P rates Oracle notes A

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed the A corporate credit rating on Oracle Corp., and assigned an A rating to the company's $3.25 billion of proposed senior notes to be issued in two tranches maturing in 2020 and 2040. The outlook is stable.

The ratings reflect the company's strong earnings and cash flow protection levels and ample liquidity, S&P said.

The risks associated with product development and technology transitions, highly competitive industry conditions and an aggressive acquisition profile partially offset those factors, the agency said.
