By Alice Popovici

New York, Sept. 9 - Opus South Corp. received authorization for an extension to its exclusive periods to file a Chapter 11 plan and to solicit votes on the plan during a Wednesday hearing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, according to a source familiar with the case.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended by 120 days, to Dec. 18, and the solicitation period by the same amount of time to Feb. 16.

Opus, an Atlanta-based design-build development firm, filed for bankruptcy on April 22. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-11390.
