Open Range seeks to hire FTI to provide CROs, temporary hourly staff

Pittsburgh, Oct. 14 - Open Range Communications Inc. requested court approval to hire FTI Consulting, Inc. to provide a chief restructuring officer, an associate chief restructuring officer and hourly temporary staff, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, Open Range is looking to appoint FTI's Michael E. Katzenstein as CRO and Chris LeWand as associate CRO.

According to the motion, the appointments are "essential to the debtor's efforts to effectuate a sale of substantially all of its assets as a going concern or sales for select assets and to preserve and maximize the value of its estate."

Katzenstein will replace Open Range's chief executive officer, the motion said.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 31.

Open Range Communications is a broadband company based in Greenwood Village, Colo. The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 6. Its Chapter 11 case number is 11-13188.
