Province of Ontario plans bond offering

New York, Aug. 27 - The Province of Ontario announced Wednesday that it will issue unsecured bonds, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The bonds (Aa1/AA) will be non-callable.

Further information was not available at press time Wednesday.

Proceeds will be used for general provincial purposes.

The issue will be drawn from the province's $5 billion shelf.
