Oneida posts $2.86 million operating loss for May 28 to June 24

Eugene, Ore., July 24 - Oneida Ltd. reported a $2.86 million operating loss for the period of May 28 to June 24 on net sales of $15.39 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company posted a $3.17 million operating loss for the period of April 30 to May 27 on net sales of $17.85 million.

Net loss for the June period was $2.86 million, compared with a $3.17 million net loss for the May period.

The company reported negative cash and cash equivalents of $1.18 million on June 24, compared with negative $323,982 on May 27.

Oneida, an Oneida, N.Y.-based maker of flatware, dinnerware, crystal and metal serving pieces, filed for bankruptcy on April 2. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-10489.
