Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period ends early for Omniture, Visual Sciences merger

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 5 - The Federal Trade Commission granted early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period in the proposed acquisition of Visual Sciences, Inc. by Omniture, Inc.

"We look forward to bringing the benefits of this acquisition to our customers, partners and stockholders in the early part of 2008," Omniture co-founder and chief executive officer Josh James said in a company news release.

The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008, subject to shareholder approval and other customary closing conditions.

On Oct. 26, Omniture announced it would buy Visual Sciences in a stock and cash deal valued at $394 million.

Omniture provides online business optimization software through an on-demand subscription service. The company is located in Orem, Utah.

Visual Sciences, formerly WebSideStory, Inc., is a provider of real-time analytics applications based in San Diego.
