Omega Navigation asks court to continue statement hearing to Oct. 15

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Sept. 28 - Omega Navigation Enterprises Inc. is asking the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas to continue the Oct. 1 hearing on approval of the disclosure statement for the company's proposed plan of reorganization, according to a Friday court filing.

The company said it will ask the court to continue the hearing until Oct. 15.

Omega said it needs more time to finalize and document agreements with some "key players" in its bankruptcy case before the disclosure statement approval motion can be heard.

Omega Navigation is an Athens, Greece-based provider of marine transportation services. The company filed for bankruptcy on July 8, 2011 under Chapter 11 case number 11-35926.
