Former Chrysler reports $14 million January income; sales improve

Charlotte, N.C., March 1 - Old Carco LLC, formerly Chrysler LLC, reported operating income of $14 million for January on $1 million in revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Sunday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

In comparison, the company posted a net loss of $1 million for December on negative $62 million in revenues.

The results include $24 million in reorganization items, down from $203 million in December.

The company had $144 million in cash and cash equivalents at Jan. 31, down from $146 million at the end of December.

Chrysler, an Auburn Hills, Mich.-based automotive company, filed for bankruptcy on April 30, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-50002.
