S&P changes 13 Russian companies to positive

S&P said it revised the outlooks on 13 Russian companies to positive from stable after a similar action on the Russian Federation.

The agency revised the outlooks on Gazprom PJSC; Gazprom Neft PJSC; Lukoil PJSC; Oil Co. Rosneft OJSC; Mobile TeleSystems PJSC; MegaFon PJSC; PJSC Transneft; Federal Grid Co. of the Unified Energy System; Moscow United Electric Grid Co. PJSC; Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Centre. PJSC; Russian Railways JSC; PJSC Rosseti; and Atomic Energy Power Corp. JSC to positive.

For the government-related entities, S&P said the revised outlooks reflect its view that a potentially stronger Russian government could have more capacity to support these entities. For the private companies, stronger sovereign creditworthiness could lessen constraints to achieve a higher rating.
