Oglebay Norton seeks extension to exclusivity to file a plan to Oct. 20

By Jeff Pines

Washington, Aug. 23 - Oglebay Norton Co. asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware Friday to extend its exclusive right to file a plan of reorganization to Oct. 20 and to Dec. 20 to solicit votes for the plan.

Its current exclusive periods end Aug. 20 and Oct. 20.

A confirmation hearing for the Cleveland-based minerals company's reorganization plan is scheduled for Sept. 29, and the request for the extension will be considered at the hearing.

Filing the motion will extend Oglebay Norton's exclusivity until at least the hearing date.

Oglebay Norton filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 23. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-10558.
