Oglebay Norton expects reorganization confirmation hearing in early September

New York, June 3 - Oglebay Norton Co. anticipates holding the confirmation hearing for its plan of reorganization in early September.

In addition, the Cleveland industrial minerals company is aiming for a July 27 hearing to approve its disclosure statement, according to a document filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware Thursday.

The disclosure statement was filed on May 21 following filing of the reorganization plan on April 27.

A revised version incorporating additional details and deals reached will likely be filed in early or mid June, according to the filing.

The delay until July 27 for the hearing on the disclosure statement is required because Oglebay Norton is carrying out the appraisals needed to support fresh-start accounting figures. Those numbers are required before the company's S-1 registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a rights offering can become effective.

Oglebay Norton filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 23. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-10558.
