OCA asks court to apply existing plan of reorganization to new debtors

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 6 - OCA, Inc. requested court approval to allow its plan of reorganization and disclosure statement to apply to debtors who joined the company's Chapter 11 case on June 1, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

The new debtors include Orthodontic Centers of Idaho, Inc.; Orthodontic Centers of Iowa, Inc.; and Orthodontic Centers of Hawaii, Inc.

According to the motion, after a review of its schedules and statement of financial affairs in connection with the company's June 19 disclosure statement hearing, OCA discovered some debtors had been left out of the bankruptcy filing.

As a result, those companies filed for bankruptcy on June 1.

OCA, a Metairie, La., provider of business services to orthodontic and dental practices, filed for bankruptcy on March 14. The Chapter 11 case number is 06-10179.
