S&P keeps Nvidia on positive watch

Standard & Poor's said its ratings on Nvidia Corp. remain on CreditWatch with positive implications, where they were placed on April 4, following the announcement that competitor ATI Technologies Inc. is being acquired by Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (B+/Watch negative).

The agency said that the acquisition will modify the competitive landscape for Nvidia and has an impact on its critical technology relationships with Intel Corp (A+/stable/A-1+) and AMD.

S&P said it scope of review will expand to include an assessment of the longer-term shifts in these key supplier associations and their effect on the company's market presence and longer-term growth prospects.
