Nuveen to launch three Intelligent Risk Allocation Funds with different daily volatility targets

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Feb. 17 - Nuveen Investment Trust announced in an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission its plans to offer three new exchange-traded funds, the Nuveen Intelligent Risk Growth Allocation Fund, the Nuveen Intelligent Risk Moderate Allocation Fund and the Nuveen Intelligent Risk Conservative Allocation Fund.

The funds will launch with class A, class C, class R3 and class I shares. Ticker symbols have not yet been determined.

All three funds will seek total return by investing in ETFs and derivatives whose performance is expected to correspond to a variety of different asset classes. The daily volatility target will differ for the three funds.

The Growth Allocation Fund will target a daily volatility range of 12% to 18%, the Moderate Allocation Fund will target a daily volatility range of 7% to 12% and the Conservative Allocation Fund will target a daily volatility range of 3.5% to 7%. All of the percentages are annualized.

Only class A shares will impose a sales charge, which will be a maximum of 5.75%. Some types of accounts will be charged a $15 annual low balance fee for accounts under $1,000.

Management fees have not yet been set. Distribution and/or service (12b-1) fees of 0.25% for class A, 1% for class C and 0.5% for class R3 shares will apply.

James A. Colon and Derek B. Bloom will be the portfolio managers.

Chicago-based Nuveen Fund Advisors, Inc. is the investment adviser to the funds.
