S&P affirms Argonaut Group

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed its BB+ counterparty credit rating on holding company Argonaut Group Inc. At the same time, S&P affirmed its BBB+ counterparty credit and financial strength ratings on Argonaut's insurance company affiliates. The outlook remains positive.

S&P said the ratings reflect Argonaut's more diversified business mix, continuously improving underwriting results and conservative investment strategy.

The Argonaut Group includes Argonaut Insurance Co., Argonaut-Midwest Insurance Co., Argonaut Southwest Insurance Co., Georgia Insurance Co., Argonaut Great Central Insurance Co., Colony Insurance Co., Colony Specialty Insurance Co. and Colony National Insurance Co.
