United Microelectronics buys back $37.5 million exchangeable bonds

Los Angeles, April 1 – United Microelectronics Corp. repurchased $37.5 million of its currency-linked zero-coupon exchangeable bonds due 2026 (ISIN: XS2358241243) in open market transactions during the period from March 1 to March 23, according to a notice.

The company has canceled those repurchased bonds.

United Microelectronics originally issued $400 million of the bonds, which are exchangeable into common shares of Novatek Microelectronics Corp.

Based in Taipei, Taiwan, United Microelectronics is a semiconductor foundry offering services for the manufacture of integrated circuits.
