Fitch lowers Nova Ljubljanska, Abanka

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Nova Ljubljanska Banka and Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor's long-term issuer default ratings at BBB.

The outlook was revised to negative from stable.

Fitch also said it downgraded the government-guaranteed notes of Nova Ljubljanska Banka and Abanka Vipa dd to A from AA-.

The actions follow the downgrade of the Slovenian sovereign rating to A from AA-, the agency said.

The negative outlook reflects the negative outlook on the sovereign, Fitch said, and hence the potential for further weakening of the Slovenian government's ability to provide support to the banks.

The agency also affirmed Nova Ljubljanska Banka's short-term foreign-currency issuer default rating at F3, viability rating at B with guaranteed notes to A from AA-.

The agency also affirmed Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor's short-term foreign-currency issuer default rating at F3, viability rating at BB and hybrid capital instrument rating at B+.
