Acacia's CombiMatrix launches Human-Genome CatalogArray

By E. Janene Geiss

Philadelphia, May 18 - Acacia Research Corp. announced Thursday that its CombiMatrix group has begun offering its Human 90K CatalogArray.

Powered by the company's proprietary CustomArray platform, the new Human 90K CatalogArray can interrogate 39,882 RNA transcripts, offering researchers the most up-to-date human array, according to a company news release.

"Our new exon-centric Human 90K CatalogArray delivers high information content and ease of use to researchers," Michael Tognotti, vice president of sales and marketing at CombiMatrix, said in the release.

CustomArrays are semiconductor-based arrays integrated onto a standard 1" x 3" slide format. CustomArrays contain in situ synthesized oligonucleotides, prepared using CombiMatrix's patented virtual-flask technology.

Acacia, based in Newport Beach, Calif., comprises two operating groups, Acacia Technologies group and CombiMatrix group. CombiMatrix develops customizable arrays, which are semiconductor-based tools for use in identifying and determining the roles of genes, gene mutations and proteins.
