S&P ups Northwestern University, Ill., rates bonds AAA/A-1+
Standard & Poor's said it raised the rating on Northwestern University, Ill.'s debt to AAA from AA+ and assigned an AAA/A-1+ rating to $125 million variable-rate series 2008 bonds issued for Northwestern by the Illinois Finance Authority.
The outlook is stable.
The rating reflects the university's excellent liquidity, high student quality and demand, consistently strong operating performance, good fundraising and strong management team, S&P said.
